What more would you like to learn?

During the one semester, I could learn a lot of things in this course.
Especially, I was most fascinated by a miracle skill of Microsoft Word because I was used to using Word most, but there were so many interesting tools, and I knew that Word is not for only an official document but also for fun.
I was really shocked that Mr. Poza said this course was only introduction to computer.

To tell you the truth, I was not so interested in computers before taking this class, but now, I really want to study more and master the computers.

Moreover, thanks to Mr. Poza, I got interested in Mac. Therefore, I also want to buy a Mac if I have money and a chance after I go to the US, and share the wondrous of Mac with Mr. Poza.
This is the last blog for the class, but I want to continue writing blog about my daily life from now.

Computer Terms: Viral Video

Viral video is a video clip that is shown on the Internet, for example, by sending the video clip by e-mail or putting it on the blog. One of the most famous examples is a web site, You Tube. Ordinal people shoot a video clip by their camera or cell phones, and when they put their videos on the website, everyone can watch them. Moreover, you can copy your favorite one, then you can send it to your friends or put it on your blog. That is viral video. Now, you can see a hundreds of thousands of video clips on the websites. Therefore, why don’t you shoot your daily life or special event and show them to a lot of people! In here, I will show you one of my favorite viral video titled “Ghost Rider” from You Tube.

Computer gifts you would buy for friends & family

What I want to give my friends or family is a wireless mouse. I have two reasons. First, I think that mouse is sometimes makes me annoying when I want to move my laptop. I am sure that my friends and family have a same kind of problem, so if there is a wireless mouse, we do not have to be bothered. Secondly, wireless mouse is suit for a presentation. Most of my friends and my father have to give a presentation, so if they have a wireless mouse, it will be much easier to control the PC, and a presentation will be more successful because they do not have to stop looking at audience. I think it makes people look more confidence, and this is essential especially at the business scene. From these reasons, I want to buy a wireless mouse for friends and family. If I have an opportunity, I will give it to my father when his birthday is coming.

What Is "Net Neutrality"?

Net neutrality is the abbreviation of Network neutrality, and it is also called Internet neutrality. As the name shows, it is an equal access to residential broadband networks such as Internet access, and the Internet operated according to this principle since its earliest days. It is because broadband carriers should not use their market power to control online. Until now, neutrality makes a lot of company like Google to grow. We are using the broadband like the Internet everyday without knowing that a lot of systems are used to protect the positions of consumers. Moreover, we cannot live without using the Internet, and almost all people including students own their computers and use the Internet. Therefore, for both the Internet users and companies related to the Internet, net neutrality is essential for our lives.

Tell about some recent computer News

I found the interesting news on the Internet. On February 18, Microsoft reported that it will release a new version of Office called Office14 in 2009. Actually, it released Office 7 just a few months ago. Surprisingly, it is typical for Microsoft to release a new version of office every 2 or 3 years. In the new version, Microsoft try to improve search relevance, enhance the management of complex documents and contents, and bring business intelligence into the business process itself. Moreover, Microsoft reported that it is planning to release a new version of Windows called Windows 7 or Vienna in 2006. Therefore, I think that the computer will improve more and more in the near future, so it is important for people to know what their require is and buy the best computer that fit their purpose.

Introduce 3 good web sites

First, I want to introduce the webpage of Apple (http://www.apple.com/). In this page, you can know the latest news of productions of Apple. For example, Apple announced that the completely new type of phone called iPhone. You can not only know the function but also see how it works by the simulation on the screen. Moreover, if you have an iPod, you can download some music and make a play list of your iPod. I think this type of webpage is really rare, and you can enjoy it
Second, when you want to know what is happening in the world, I recommend Google news (http://news.google.com/). In this page, you can search the news by country. For instance, if you want to know the top news in Mexico, you can see it by only selecting Mexico in the searching box. Moreover, you can edit the news and save it as your own page. By doing this, you can see your favorite and most interesting news at once.
Finally, I want you to visit You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/index). Actually, this page is controversial, but I think this is the new type of media on the Internet. In this page, you can watch so many kinds of short videos that are shot by viewers of You Tube. In fact, some of videos are from actural TV programs, so it has a problem in terms of copyright. However, in this page, there are a lot of interesting videos, such as cute pets or children.

What is Social Engineering.

Social Engineering that is called also Social Hacker is to steal someone’s personal information by using social ways, and most of them are done without facing each other. For example, there is a way called Pretexting. It usually uses a telephone to get information with some pre-knowledge about the targets such as the date of birth, Social Security Number, and last bill amount. This technique makes private investigators be able to know telephone records, utility records and so on. Moreover, we are always faced with the danger of Social Engineering. Please imagine that you are an office worker. You through a piece of paper some important passwords on it, and someone stole it from the trash box secretly. It is one of the Social Engineering. Like this, everyone can be obtained their personal information, so we have to care about protecting our any kind of information

What do you know about the Mac (Apple computers)?

I did not know much about Mac until I started to learn computer in the second semester. However, I learned a lot of new things in this course.
First, Mac is used by only 5% in the world. I think that most Japanese people have an image that only Windows is the best computer. I have such a kind of image too, and I was thinking that Mac is more difficult to use than Windows, but it is not true.
That is a second point. Mac is more easy to use, and it has a fashionable appearance. This means that Mac is really fit for people who are interested in music or movies, and I think especially for young people.
Finally, I learned that Mac and windows use the different OS. Mac use Mactel, so we can use both Mac and Windows on the one computer. I did not know that I could use both OS on the Mac, so I was really fascinated with it.
I do not know much about Mac yet, but when I need a new computer, I want to try to get a Mac and enjoy it!

What I want to learn about computers.

There are two things that I want to learn about computers.

First, I want to know more details about Microsoft Word and use it collectly. I started to use Word frequently because I have to write a lot of report for the class. Then I sometimes have a problem to use the Microsoft Word. For example, when I pushed the Tab key, the sentence moved too much, and I could not understand why. Therefore, it took a long time to write and fix my paper. However, I hope that this computer class makes me an expert of Microsoft Word!

Second, I want to use the keyboard more efficiently. As Mr.Poza said, it becomes really easy to use the computer if I can control it mostly by the keyboard. I noticed that I do not know the function of the each key, and it is waste of time. Some keys are difficult to memorize the function, but once I realize them, I will be able to use the computer more efficiently.

Until the end of the semester, I hope that I understand most function of the computer, and I use the computer much faster without mistakes.
